Trust Commands Confidence

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” ~Proverbs 3:5-6

Wow! What an awesome scripture. Have you ever learned that God has assigned you to accomplish something in this earth only to wonder, "How in the world am I going to do this?" I know I have. But this scripture tells me the answer! When I put all of my trust in God and His ability to do His word, He comes through.

No matter what He has assigned you to do, He provides everything needed to accomplish His plans, including directions. When I don’t know what to do; He directs me in the right way when I trust Him. Can you think of a better way to eliminate the fear of failure. It definitely gives me confidence to go forward knowing that He’s got my back.

Fear of the unknown will paralyze you if you let it, but trust in God and His love for you eliminates fear. When He says, “Lean not unto your own understanding,” you don’t have to worry about how He’s going to do what He said, how your needs are going to be met or how you will be able to do what He’s called you to do.

This kind of trust develops through experiences with God

How do you know if you can trust a friend? You may feel like you can trust someone, but the more that friend does what he/she says, the more you will trust that they are reliable and dependable. But God is the friend who never fails. He always does what His word says. He is faithful. The more I lean on Him, the more my confidence in Him grows.

In what area do you need to trust God in your life? I encourage you to stop leaning on your own understanding of how things will work out, and start trusting in God. Allow Him to be your guide. Of course, you have to do your part by obeying His word and taking faith actions, but as you do, you will see His mighty hand at work in your life.

Have a Blessed week!

  1. Amen this is an awesome post! I love it when you tell the readers how fear will paralyze them; how true. The enemy job is to plant nasty seeds into the mind of God's children and he only succeed when God's children let their guard down and believe the negative report. When a person knows what God word has to say about their situation, it makes moving forward with confidence that much easier. God bless you!
